From A.D. Rattray's Individual Cask Bottling range, this young 7 Year Old is a 2009 ex-Bourbon single cask, number 900485, an outturn of 245 bottles. Miltonduff, the sweet, grassy Speyside raised on the grounds of Pluscarden Abbey and known as a Ballantine's workhorse.

Seven years in ex-Bourbon kept things spirit-led, the char cleaning up raw notes as the low-tannin oak began lending vanilla to the delicate Speyside make.

At 64.2% it shows vivid young apple, pear and vanilla, undiluted. An Individual Cask 7.
