Description
The First Release was Lochlea's debut bottling in 2022, the first whisky from a distillery that opened in 2018 on the farm Robert Burns once worked. A 4 year old in ex-Bourbon, an outturn of 7,385 bottles.
Four years in ex-Bourbon shaped the young spirit, the low-tannin American oak lending vanilla without masking the distillery's own barley character.
At 46% it shows fresh and dried fruit, vanilla, honey and a malty note, a clean young Lowland malt and the start of the Lochlea story. The debut release.
