Description

This 1988 Lagavulin was bottled by Moon-Import for its In the Pink series, a 12 year old single cask from ex-Bourbon cask 2031, an outturn of 361 bottles, one of a set of sibling casks. The distillery dates from 1816, set on the Kildalton coast of southern Islay.

The heavily peated make comes off the stills slowly, gaining body. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, twelve years carry a vivid smoke.

Bottled at 46%. Guaiacol leads the phenols behind the smoke, the ex-Bourbon giving vanilla. An In the Pink single cask Lagavulin, sibling to cask 2028.
