Description

Elixir Distillers bottled this Lagavulin as Lg7 in its Elements of Islay range, a cask strength ex-Bourbon release for the Netherlands in 2017. Lagavulin sits at Lagavulin Bay between Laphroaig and Ardbeg, founded in 1816, and rarely appears under an independent label.

Long fermentation and slow distillation shape the heavy peated spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon at full strength, the wood gives vanilla beneath the smoke.

At its natural strength of 56.8%. The phenols, guaiacol among them, drive the smoke, the cask lending vanilla. A rare independent Elements of Islay Lagavulin.
