Description

This 21 Years Old was Lagavulin's bottling for the Islay Jazz Festival in 2019, a cask strength release of 2,004 bottles. The distillery was established in 1816 beside Lagavulin Bay, near Dunyvaig Castle.

Lagavulin's heavily peated spirit is distilled slowly through its pear-shaped stills. Matured in American oak at full strength, twenty-one years give a deep, polished smoke.

At its natural strength of 50.9%. Peat phenols and guaiacol carry the smoke, the American oak giving vanilla and honey. Tasting notes take in citrus, honey, leather, a sherried note, smoke and vanilla. A mature festival Lagavulin.
