Lagavulin The Distillers Edition 15 Years Old 2006

This 2006 Distillers Edition was bottled in 2021 at fifteen years old, finished in Oloroso. Lagavulin dates from 1816, tucked into a bay between Laphroaig and Ardbeg.

Lagavulin's heavily peated spirit is distilled slowly through its pear-shaped stills. After spending its first years in oak it was finished in Oloroso casks for dried-fruit depth.

Bottled at 43%. Peat phenols and guaiacol drive the maritime smoke, the Oloroso giving fig and raisin. Tasting notes take in smoke, tobacco, chocolate, a medicinal edge, vanilla and a cooked vegetable note. An Oloroso-finished Distillers Edition.
