Description

This 14 Years Old marked Feis Ile 2007 for the distillery, an early festival single cask distilled in 1993, drawn from ex-Bourbon cask 4893, an outturn of 708 bottles. Lagavulin has stood at Lagavulin Bay since 1816, on Islay's Kildalton shore.

The spirit is heavily peated and distilled at a deliberate, slow pace. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask at full strength, fourteen years carry a vivid smoke.

Bottled undiluted at 56.5%. The smoke owes to guaiacol and phenols, the bourbon wood adding vanilla. An early festival single cask Lagavulin.
