This 30 Years Old is a Lagavulin Casks of Distinction, Diageo's programme for standout individual casks, distilled in 1991 and double matured in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso, drawn from cask 5403, an outturn of 318 bottles. Established in 1816, Lagavulin sits in a quiet bay on the south of Islay.

Lagavulin's slow distillation builds the depth its malt is known for. Matured in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso, three decades wrap a mellowed smoke in deep sherry.

Bottled at 44.3%. Phenols and guaiacol carry the peat smoke, the Pedro Ximenez giving raisin and date, the Oloroso fig. A deep sherried old Casks of Distinction Lagavulin.
