Ardbeg Ar7 (Elements of Islay)

Released as Ar7, the seventh numbered batch in the Speciality Drinks Elements of Islay Ardbeg sub series, released alongside Ar6 in 2016 as consecutive batches in the long running anonymized programme. The Elements of Islay series uses two letter distillery codes (Ar for Ardbeg) to channel stock under a unified series identity when the distillery name cannot legally appear on the label.

Released in 2016 at 56.3% ABV, non chill filtered with no added colour. The consecutive Ar6 (55.7%) and Ar7 (56.3%) batches mark the bottler drawing back to back releases from the Ardbeg stock during the year, with each batch presenting a different cask selection under the same series identity. Speciality Drinks Ltd is the bottling arm of Sukhinder Singh's whisky operation.

The single distillery format preserves pure Ardbeg spirit chemistry without dilution from other Islay distilleries. Cis and trans oak lactones (coconut, oiled wood) from American oak refill, hemicellulose breakdown furans (furfural, hydroxymethylfurfural) delivering caramel and toasted almond, and lignin vanillin and syringaldehyde layering vanilla and baking spice. The modern Ardbeg 50 to 55 ppm peat phenols (guaiacol, syringol, 4 methylguaiacol, p cresol) carry the classic Ardbeg phenolic smoke, with the Ardbeg purifier ester signature delivering concentrated pineapple, lemon and tropical fruit beneath the integrated phenolic core.
