Released for the German market through Ardbeg's Private Single Cask programme. The Private Single Cask label sits in the distillery's hand fill tier alongside Private Bottling and Private Reserve, with each release tied to a specific market, retailer or member group. Germany has been one of Ardbeg's strongest continental markets since the early Glenmorangie revival, with specialist retailers and private cask groups regularly receiving country exclusive single cask releases.

Matured on Islay for twenty one years from 2000 through the 2004 LVMH acquisition and into the modern era. Bottled in 2022 at 51% ABV, non chill filtered with no added colour. The Private Single Cask programme typically operates without disclosed bottle counts on the label, with outturn varying between 150 and 250 bottles depending on cask format and warehouse position.

Twenty one years of bourbon maturation builds American oak lactones (cis dominant, coconut and oiled vanilla) layered onto hemicellulose breakdown furans (toasted almond, caramel) and lignin derived vanillin and syringaldehyde (sweet baking spice). Modern Ardbeg's 50 to 55 ppm phenol specification delivers guaiacol, syringol, 4 methylguaiacol and p cresol smoke intensity, integrated across the long maturation cycle. The Ardbeg purifier ester signature carries through with pineapple, lemon and tropical fruit beneath the integrated peat profile, characteristic of modern Glenmorangie era Ardbeg from this vintage.
