Williamson 2015 MSWD Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited (Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers)

Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, the family firm behind the Càrn Mòr and Mac-Talla ranges, prizes variety through careful cask selection is an independent bottler. A 9 year old Williamson, this was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024., from the Càrn Mòr - Strictly Limited range. The Williamson label denotes teaspooned Laphroaig: a spoonful of another malt added to the cask, enough to require a blended-malt designation. Bessie Williamson, who took the distillery over in 1954, gives the name.

Held in Oloroso for nine years, the cask steeps Laphroaig's tar-and-iodine smoke in dried fruit.

Bottled at cask strength, 47.5%, dried fruit and a dry nuttiness from the Oloroso. It carries citrus, fresh fruit, a malt note, new wood, an oily texture, a rubbery note.
