Williamson 2013 MSWD Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited (1588 bottles)

Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, the family firm behind the Càrn Mòr and Mac-Talla ranges, prizes variety through careful cask selection is an independent bottler. This 8 year old Williamson came off the stills in 2013 and was bottled in 2021., from the Càrn Mòr - Strictly Limited range. Williamson means teaspooned Laphroaig, a cask given a token measure of another malt so the distillery name is off-limits and the label says blended malt. It remembers Bessie Williamson, Laphroaig's owner from 1954.

Eight years in the bourbon cask lend vanilla to the medicinal Islay spirit.

Bottled undiluted at 47.5%, with vanilla and coconut from the bourbon oak. The profile runs to citrus, honey, smoke, dried fruit, fresh fruit, a malt note.
