Description

Berry Bros & Rudd has traded from No. 3 St James's Street in London since 1698, Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant. Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2024, this 11 year old Williamson, from cask 218 followed. in the Single Cask range. Williamson is the code for teaspooned Laphroaig: add a spoonful of another malt to the cask and it must be sold as a blended malt rather than under the distillery name. The name nods to Bessie Williamson, Laphroaig's mid-century owner.

Eleven years in Oloroso layer the cask onto its medicinal south-Islay peat.

At 59.1%, undiluted, the Oloroso adds figgy sweetness and walnut. The profile runs to dried fruit, a rubbery note.
