Description
Wiener Hofburg is an Austrian rosé Sekt made in the fresh, fruit driven tank style that suits everyday sparkling. The wine is built on red grapes, led by the native Zweigelt with Pinot Noir, which give the pink colour and the red berry character. Fermentation is carried out in pressurised tank, which preserves the bright primary fruit and sets a fine, lively bead. Bottled as a Trocken, it is genuinely dry, with the fruit kept fresh rather than sweet.
The wine is a pale rosé with a fine, lively perlage. Strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant lead the nose, with a light floral note. The palate is fresh and dry, with clear red fruit and an easy, everyday structure, closing clean and lively. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. A relaxed aperitif that suits light starters, antipasti, salads, poultry and lighter fish through the summer.
