Description
Weingut Tschermonegg makes this Frizzante Rose in Styria in southern Austria, a region known for cool-climate, fruit-driven wines. It is built as a light, semi-sparkling rose from local red fruit, fermented in stainless steel to keep the primary aromatics fresh and finished with a soft bead rather than the fuller pressure of a full sparkling wine. At 11 per cent it sits light and lively, made for easy, chilled drinking through the warmer months.
The wine shows a bright pink with a fine, gentle perlage. The nose leads with strawberry and red berries over a delicate floral note. The palate is fresh and crisp, with juicy red fruit and a clean, balanced close. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It works as a summer aperitif and suits light salads, cold cuts, roast chicken and a bowl of fresh berries.
