This official Tomatin single malt, aged 18 year old and bottled at 43%. Tomatin, founded in 1897 in the Highland village of the same name, was once Scotland's largest malt distillery. By 1974 Tomatin ran twenty three stills and was the largest malt distillery in Scotland.

It was worked through onion stills for a light, fruity spirit, for the soft, fruity Highland make Tomatin is known for. Ex-Sherry wood added a dried fruit richness to the soft make. Around the mid teens the malt gains a fuller honey and ripe fruit. Refill oak lets the fruity Tomatin character lead, apple over honey. Cu Bocan focuses on unusual cask finishes, from sherry to wine and beyond. Tomatin stands at over three hundred metres, among the highest in the land. An old cattle drovers' road ran through Tomatin, and whisky was made here long before the distillery. The arrival of the Highland Railway in the 1890s made the distillery possible.

At an approachable 43% it is soft and balanced. A mellow, fruity character, and the Oloroso adds figgy fruit and a warm nuttiness. A baked apple and a gentle spice lift it. It finishes soft, fruity and clean. This is the softer side of the Highlands.
