This official Tomatin single malt, aged 10 year old and bottled at 43%. Tomatin, founded in 1897 in the Highland village of the same name, was once Scotland's largest malt distillery. Cu Bocan takes its name from a spectral hound said to haunt the Tomatin hills.

Distilled slowly for the soft, fruity Tomatin make, building the approachable Tomatin style. A refill bourbon cask held it, keeping the fruit to the fore. Still young, the malt is fruity and mellow with a gentle spice. Long, gentle ageing turns the fresh fruit towards honey and soft spice. The make is light and fruity, easy to like and easy to drink. Special releases like Decades and Warehouse 6 have marked the distillery's milestones. Cold, clean water runs down to the distillery from the hills above. Under Japanese stewardship the focus turned from sheer volume to quality. The very long fermentation is central to the distillery's fruity character.

At an approachable 43% it is soft and balanced. Apple, vanilla and a light spice, and the bourbon cask adds vanilla and a gentle sweetness. It is gentle and fruity, the soft spirit shining through. A fruity, lightly spiced finish lingers. This is the soft, fruity Highland malt of Tomatin.
