This official Singleton of Dufftown, at 40%. Dufftown is a Speyside malt built for the blender's art and now bottled as a single malt in its own right. Eight warehouses on site hold close to 100,000 casks of maturing malt.

It was worked through the stills with a creamed yeast for a malty, fruity make, giving the smooth, approachable Speyside spirit. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the malty, fruity spirit. With no age statement, the oak has given vanillin as vanilla and oak lactones as coconut over the nutty, malty spirit. Maturation in the eight Dufftown warehouses is slow and steady. It runs a full lauter mash tun, twelve washbacks and six stills, and works around the clock. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the smooth Speyside spirit. The clean, grassy spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and honey to the fore.

At 40% it is smooth and nutty. A smooth, nutty Speyside fruit, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. It is nutty and malty, the smooth spirit shining through. A long, malty finish carries an orchard fruit and a soft nut. This is a Speyside single malt of real character.
