An official Singleton of Dufftown from the distillery, at 40%. Nutty malt, green apple and a gentle spice run through it, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Founded in 1895, it became the heart of the Bell’s blend. Eight warehouses on site hold close to 100,000 casks. This is an approachable Speyside single malt.

A Singleton of Dufftown, a distillery bottling, at 40%. Dufftown is a Speyside single malt distilled in the town of Dufftown, the heart of Scotland's malt whisky country. It runs a full lauter mash tun, twelve washbacks and six stills, and works around the clock.

Worked through the stills with a creamed yeast for a malty, fruity make, building the smooth Dufftown style. It was matured in an Oloroso cask, the wood working slowly into the malt. With no age statement, the oak has given vanillin as vanilla and oak lactones as coconut over the nutty, malty spirit. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple and malt deepening to honey. In recent years the ferment was lengthened and the wort run clear for a grassier make. The Singleton style leans on a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry oak. It is one of Diageo's largest malt distilleries, making around 5.8 million litres a year.

Reduced to 40%, it is mellow. Nutty malt, green apple and a gentle spice, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Pear, honey and a creamy malt fill the middle. The finish runs gentle, nutty and warming. This is the workhorse malt of Dufftown.
