Description
The Busker is the house range of the Royal Oak distillery in Co. Carlow, a modern site that produces malt, grain and pot still spirit under one roof. This is the all malted barley expression of the range, a no age statement single malt built for approachability without losing the character of the stillhouse.
Maturation splits between ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, the American oak laying down vanilla and gentle coconut while the sherry wood adds a raisined edge to the toasted malt core. Bottled at 44.3%, slightly above the standard strength, it keeps the honeyed, fruity profile typical of Irish single malt, with enough body to stand up in a highball as comfortably as a straight pour.
