This official Tamnavulin single malt, aged 19 year old from 1967, drawn from cask 1480 - 1481 and bottled at 43%. The outturn was 1212 bottles. Tamnavulin, first built in 1966 in the Livet glen of Speyside, is the mill on the hill. Purifiers on the spirit stills keep only the lightest vapours, for a delicate spirit.

The spirit was run through purifier stills on soft Easterton Spring water, to build a clean, orchard fruit character. Maturation came in American oak, with vanilla under the orchard fruit. By this age the light spirit rounds into orchard fruit and a soft honey. The purifiers lift only the lightest vapours, giving a clean, fruity spirit. The distillery is now owned by the Philippine Emperador group through Whyte and Mackay. Its modern range leans on cask finishes, the motto single malt, double flavour. The name is Gaelic for mill on the hill, a nod to the old mill on its grounds.

Reduced to 43%, it is mellow. Meadow flowers and ripe fruit meet soft vanilla and honey from the cask. Soft orchard fruit and vanilla sit behind the sweetness. A fruity, lightly spiced finish lingers. This is an easy going, fruity Speyside malt.
