Description
Takamaka Rum Zenn is produced at Trois Frères Distillery on Mahé in the Seychelles and is bottled at 43% ABV. The base is built from a blend of column still rum for clarity and structure, combined with pot still rum for extra aromatic weight and texture. Once blended, it is refined using hydrodynamic cavitation, a process that accelerates integration by driving rapid liquid movement and micro mixing through the spirit, helping soften edges and unify flavour without relying on long cask time.
Zenn is then rested in large stainless steel tanks, allowing the blend to settle and stabilise while keeping the profile clean and free from oak driven ageing effects. To add a controlled layer of wood influence, the rum is pressed with fine oak material sourced from ex bourbon casks. This introduces subtle oak derived compounds that read as gentle vanilla and warm spice notes, while keeping the spirit light in colour and easy to mix.
In the glass, Rum Zenn is rounded and smooth with restrained spice warmth, a soft oak toned sweetness and an approachable finish. It works well over ice, in simple long serves, or as a softer spiced rum alternative in cocktails where you want flavour and texture without heavy sweetness.
