Strathenry 2018 KCC Elevenses Whisky (Keeble Cask Company Ltd.)

Strathenry is the name InchDairnie gives the unpeated single malt it trades to independent bottlers and blenders, drawn from the Fife distillery Ian Palmer opened in 2015. Keeble Cask Company Ltd. bottled this 2018 vintage at 6 years old for its Elevenses Whisky range. The outturn was 589 bottles, released for the Netherlands.

The Fife distillery runs one of only two mash filters in Scotch production and distils through a custom Lomond Hill still, a pot still with six bubble cap plates in its neck for high reflux. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%, without dilution, the ex-Bourbon wood gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for a light toffee sweetness. Young and bright, the malt keeps a crisp cereal core under the cask sweetness.
