This official Springbank single malt, a 21 year old and bottled at 46%. A release of 3700 bottles. Established in 1828, Springbank is campbeltown's most revered surviving distillery. Hedley Wright's family has kept the distillery independent for the best part of two centuries.

The spirit was given Springbank's unusual two and a half times distillation, and condensed in traditional worm tubs. A Rum cask shaped it, lending brown sugar and a tropical lift. At this age it is rich and complex, the fruit folded into a waxy, briny body. Everything is done on site, the spirit going from still to cask to bottle in Campbeltown. Few distilleries keep so much of the old craft alive under one roof. Campbeltown was once the whisky capital of the world, with more than thirty distilleries at its peak. Today just three distilleries survive in the old Kintyre whisky town. The maritime warehouses by the sea lend the malt its briny, oily depth.

Bottled at 46%, it is rounded. An oily, maritime character with light peat are layered with brown sugar and a rum sweetness. Beneath it run oily fruit, salt and a coastal depth. Sea salt and fruit draw out the close. This is the flagship malt of old Campbeltown.
