This official Springbank single malt, aged 15 year old from 2003 and bottled at 51%. The outturn was 9000 bottles. Springbank has distilled in Campbeltown since 1828, prized for its rich, oily, hand made spirit. Bottles are released in small batches, often through ballots to meet the demand.

It was given the part triple distillation unique to Springbank, the vapour cooled in worm tubs. A Rum cask shaped it, lending brown sugar and a tropical lift. By this age the maritime weight rounds into a richer, fuller malt. Long maturation suits the heavy, characterful make, the cask knitting slowly with the spirit. Kintyre's damp, mild climate suits a long and gentle maturation. The old town of Campbeltown once rivalled Speyside as Scotland's whisky heart. Quality and tradition, not volume, have always been the watchwords here. The spirit is filled to cask and matured within the distillery walls.

At 51%, undiluted, it is deep and powerful. A coastal, waxy spirit with gentle peat meet brown sugar, banana and a tropical lift from the cask. Soft fruit and brine sit behind the cask sweetness. It finishes deep, complex and maritime. This is a revered Campbeltown single malt.
