A distillery bottling of Springbank, a 12 year old Campbeltown malt, drawn from cask Batch 9 and bottled at 54.3%. Springbank is a Campbeltown distillery distilling since 1828, one of only three distilleries left in Campbeltown. Concerto barley is malted on the floors and kilned in the distillery's own kiln.

It was distilled around two and a half times from floor malted, lightly peated barley, then cooled slowly in worm tubs. Maturation in a sherry cask laid dried fruit over the maritime malt. Around the mid teens the malt gains depth while keeping its oily salt. The oily, robust make carries cask flavour while holding its own character. Today just three distilleries survive in the old Kintyre whisky town. The maritime warehouses by the sea lend the malt its briny, oily depth. A 1940s Porteus mill and an open iron mash tun are part of the old setup. The Mitchell family has held the distillery for five generations.

Bottled at a cask strength 54.3%, it is rich. Dried fruit and a walnut richness meets a salty, waxy depth with a whisper of peat. The texture is rich and oily, the salt threaded through. The finish is long, waxy and briny. This is a complex, coastal Campbeltown whisky.
