Description
Slane Irish Whiskey comes from the grounds of Slane Castle in Co. Meath, where the Conyngham family partnered with Brown-Forman to build a distillery beside the Boyne. This is a 2017 bottling of the Triple Casked blend, the house flagship, from stock sourced and married while the new stillhouse found its feet.
The recipe leans on three woods: virgin oak for toasted spice, seasoned casks that once held Tennessee whiskey for vanilla and char, and sherry butts for a nutty, dried fruit undertow. Citrus and hazelnut ride over soft malt at 40%, an approachable pour built for mixing as much as sipping, with the virgin oak giving it a firmer grip than most Irish blends at this strength.
