Description
Shizuoka 4 Years Old 2019 is a single cask cask strength single malt from Gaiaflow's Shizuoka distillery in Shizuoka prefecture, drawn from an Ex-Bourbon cask, distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2023 as a limited event release. It belongs to the same cohort of 2019 vintage single casks that Gaiaflow bottled across multiple events in 2023, each offering a slightly different window onto the year's production through individual cask variation.
The four-year Ex-Bourbon maturation provides vanilla, fresh citrus and a clean, gently sweet wood character, consistent with the house's typical bourbon-cask profile. At 50.5%, the spirit is accessible at cask strength, with the cedar washback signature and orchard-fruit new make nature clearly visible. Compared with the Octave releases from the same vintage, this standard barrel bottling shows a lighter, more open character.
