Description
Rooster Rojo Tequila Reposado AHUMADO is a 100% Blue Weber tequila that breaks from the usual steam cooking. Where standard tequila bakes its agave in masonry ovens or autoclaves, this expression cooks the hearts for 48 hours in an underground oven with firewood and heated stones, the same pit principle behind mezcal. That choice gives the spirit a genuine smokiness rarely found in the category, and it is bottled at 40% rather than the line's usual 38% to carry the deeper aromatics and longer finish.
The nose leans into oak, tobacco, coffee and blood orange, while the palate brings caramel, vanilla, roasted agave and more of that citrus brightness. Rest in oak gives the mahogany gold colour and a soft, lingering close of vanilla and wood. It reads as a tequila with one foot pointed toward Oaxaca, a useful bridge for anyone curious about where the two spirits meet.
