Remedy Elixir Rum Liqueur

Remedy Elixir is a rum liqueur built on a Panamanian molasses base, and the label is honest about what it is: a sweet, low strength spirit at 34% rather than a dry sipping rum. The underlying rum is a light column still spirit, with the real identity coming from added sweetness and flavour rather than barrel or distillery character.

The nose is fruity and vanilla led with a slightly volatile lift, and the palate is where the liqueur side takes over, all marshmallow, caramel and syrupy sweetness. The finish stays syrupy and honeyed with a faint pepper edge. There is little depth or dryness here by design, so it works as a dessert pour or a sweet mixer for anyone who enjoys creamy, sugary styles, and it makes no pretence of being a traditional rum for slow sipping.
