Redbreast 27 Year Old represents the peak of Redbreast’s single pot still tradition. Building on the success of the 12, 15, and 21 Year Old expressions, this whiskey takes maturation to new heights. It is triple distilled from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, like the rest of the Redbreast family, and aged in a blend of ex-bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks, and, for the first time in the Redbreast series, ruby port casks.

Description
The addition of ruby port casks brings a new dimension to the whiskey, imparting notes of ripe red berries and additional layers of sweetness to the classic Redbreast profile. This is in contrast to the traditional Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, which contribute dried fruits, spices, vanilla, and oak. On the nose, Redbreast 27 offers a rich array of aromas, from tropical fruits like pineapple and mango to darker, fruitier notes of plums, cherries, and figs. There are also hints of leather, wood spice, and toasted oak. The palate is complex and layered, featuring flavors of sweet fruit, nutmeg, and chocolate, with the ruby port influence adding depth and richness. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering notes of fruit and spice.
