Pommery Brut Rosé is a Reims blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, given colour by a little red wine. Traditional bottle fermentation and lees ageing bring a fine bead and a soft biscuity edge to its red fruit.

Description
Vranken-Pommery Monopole makes this rosé at its historic Reims cellars from the three classic Champagne grapes, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for red fruit and structure and Chardonnay for freshness. The pink colour comes from blending in a measured amount of still red wine before the second fermentation. As with all Champagne, that second fermentation happens in the sealed bottle, and the wine then rests on its fine lees so the yeast contact adds a gentle bready complexity to the primary fruit. The dosage is set at a brut level, leaving the wine dry and easy to place at the table or before it.
The wine is a bright pale pink with a persistent mousse. Aromas of strawberry, raspberry and red currant sit alongside white peach and a light toasted bread note, with a creamy softness underneath. The palate is fresh and red fruited, crisp acidity keeping it lively through to a clean finish. Serve well chilled at around 8 degrees in a tulip glass. It works as an aperitif and moves happily to roast poultry, summer berries and lighter shellfish.
