Pol Roger’s Réserve Brut is the house’s non-vintage benchmark, an even blend of the three Champagne grapes given long ageing in Epernay’s chalk cellars. The result is a fine, biscuity, dry style.

Description
Pol Roger builds Réserve Brut in Epernay from roughly equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, a balanced blend that carries the house's precise, elegant signature. It follows the traditional method, with the second fermentation in bottle, and then rests for an extended period on its fine lees in the deep chalk cellars. That long autolytic ageing gives the biscuity, nutty depth and the fine, persistent bead the house is known for, while reserve wines add continuity across releases. The dosage sits at a classic brut level, leaving the wine dry and structured.
The colour is pale gold with a very fine, sustained mousse. Aromas of apple, white peach and citrus peel sit over white flowers, deepening into toasted bread, biscuit and hazelnut. On the palate it is fresh and finely textured, ripe fruit balanced by firm acidity and a creamy, autolytic depth, finishing long and dry. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass to let it show. It is a fine aperitif and suits shellfish, white fish and aged hard cheeses. In its gift box it makes a considered present.
