Heffron Premium 10YO is a Panamanian ron bottled by the Czech house Palirna U Zeleneho Stromu, a molasses spirit distilled on a column still and carried ten years in ex-bourbon casks before bottling at 40%. It sits in the soft, mellow Panama tradition and is pitched as an affordable, approachable aged rum.

The nose shows vanilla, wood, caramel and dried fruit, with a sweet palate of vanilla, wood and brown sugar and a body that turns a little heavier and fruitier than the younger Heffron, carrying dark chocolate and roasted or burnt sugar. It is smooth and gently sweet, with the main draw being value: it delivers a tidy, easy-drinking glass at a friendly price. Set against pricier rums it can feel slightly plain, but for casual sipping it serves well, a comfortable everyday Panama pour with enough caramel and fruit to stay enjoyable.
