Description
Old Comber was once the whiskey of a small Co. Down market town, its distillery closing in the 1950s and leaving only ghost bottlings behind. This 7 Years Old single pot still, released in 2025, is the revived name in its everyday form, distilled at Echlinville in Kircubbin and bottled at 46% for Europe.
Maturation runs entirely through ex-bourbon casks, a clean frame for the pot still mash bill of malted and unmalted barley, green apple and pear, black pepper and ginger, barley sugar and a creamy, faintly oily texture. It is the more approachable sibling of the cask strength event release, built for the shelf rather than the auction room.
