James Eadie, the revived Victorian blending name, bottles this 17 Year Old, a 2007 vintage from Oloroso cask 369685, an outturn of 199 bottles. Miltonduff, a light, floral Speyside from near Elgin, its spirit long destined for the Ballantine's blend.

By seventeen years the light, floral spirit had grown rich and oxidative in the Oloroso, raisin, walnut and a waxy depth over the body.

At 57% it shows honey, chocolate, nuts, a sherried depth, a sweaty note and a toasted character, undiluted. A James Eadie 17.
