Miltonduff 10 Years Old (Gordon & MacPhail)

Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, has bottled Miltonduff as a single malt for generations, and the Discovery range is its accessible entry to single malts. This 10 Year Old is matured in Oloroso. Miltonduff, the delicate Speyside drawn from the abbey-blessed Black Burn and long bound for Ballantine's.

Ten years in a sherry butt drew quick colour and dried-fruit sweetness into the sweet, floral distillate, melanoidins giving raisin as oxidation began.

At 43% it shows a sherried depth, chocolate, dried and cooked fruit, citrus and new wood. A Discovery 10.
