Martin Miller’s Winterful Gin

Martin Miller's built its reputation on a simple idea: distil a classic dry gin in England, then ship it to Iceland to be married with the purest Arctic water. Winterful takes that base somewhere seasonal, drawing on the homemade mulled-wine recipes of both England and Iceland. Cinnamon and tangerine peel are added during a third distillation, turning a clean modern classic into something built for cold nights and warm rooms.

The nose is warm and complex, intense mandarin aromas wrapped in cinnamon. The palate is spicy-sweet, sweet cinnamon leading with a note of cardamom behind it. The finish is long, mandarin and citrus folding into gentle spice. It is happiest by a fire and, unusually for a gin, takes well to being served warm, so try it gently heated with a strip of orange peel and a cinnamon stick.
