Description
Mari Mayans Hierbas Ibicencas with twig is a traditional herbal liqueur from the Balearic island of Ibiza, made to a secret family recipe for over a century and bottled at 26%. Its base is a complex blend of eighteen different herbs, roots and citrus peels, many of which grow directly on Ibiza, carefully macerated in the island style, with a sprig of herbs set inside the bottle.
The nose is aromatic herbs with clear notes of aniseed, citrus peel and Mediterranean herbs, the palate spicy and aromatic with aniseed, liquorice, fennel, fresh citrus and herbs such as rosemary and thyme, finishing pleasantly smooth with a fresh herbal flavour and a delicate bitterness from the juniper. Behind the bar it works as an aromatic, aniseed led herbal modifier with a citrus and juniper edge, adding Mediterranean lift to a drink. It is traditionally served slightly chilled or on ice as a digestif, and pairs well after a rich meal of fish or seafood.
