Description

At eighteen years the core Loch Lomond has deepened: the caramelised-apple-and-wood-smoke character carries more weight than the younger expressions, the fruit cooked down and the smoke woven in. It draws on the distillery's blend of straight- and swan-neck spirit.

Eighteen years in ex-Bourbon build that depth, slow oxidation turning the spirit toward richer fruit while the low-tannin oak lends vanilla and a hay-like sweetness.

At 46% it shows honey, fresh and cooked fruit, chocolate and a nutty depth over a soft wood smoke, the peat phenols carrying the reek. A mature, balanced 18.
