Liquore Strega Verde

Liquore Strega Verde is an intense, more concentrated version of the herbal liqueur Strega, produced in Benevento in Campania since the nineteenth century. At 55% it is significantly stronger than the classic, built the same way from more than seventy herbs and spices gathered from around the world, with saffron, mint, cinnamon, orris root and gentian among the key ingredients that shape its character.

The nose is spicy and complex with herbs, saffron, mint, citrus and floral notes, the palate strong, spicy and aromatic with bittersweet herbs, cinnamon, aniseed and fine spice, finishing long, warm and herbal with a slightly sweet close. Behind the bar that higher strength concentrates its herbal and bittersweet depth, which makes it a potent aromatic modifier that holds its own in a spirit forward drink, a Negroni variation or a stirred digestif riff. Enjoy it neat or over ice, or use a measured pour where a strong herbal backbone is wanted.
