Laphroaig 8 Years Old 2017 (Phil & Simon Thompson)

The Thompson Brothers run the Dornoch distillery and hotel in the far north of Scotland, their tongue-in-cheek labels masking serious cask selection is an independent bottler. A 8 year old Laphroaig, this was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2025.

Eight years in ex-Bourbon let the oak work Laphroaig's coastal, medicinal character.

At 57.1%, undiluted, with bourbon-cask vanilla underneath. On the palate, green-house, a faintly sweaty note.
