Laphroaig 30 Years Old 2006

A 2006 thirty from a time when Laphroaig at this age was scarce, an oily, fragrant old bottling with honey running through. The smoke long since mellowed.

Three decades in ex-Bourbon build a waxy, oily maturity, the peat a soft presence.

At 43% the smoke is gentle and fragrant, honey, fresh fruit, a green note and a leafy lift alongside. A rare mature release of its day.
