Laphroaig 27 Years Old 1981 (Oloroso)

The 1981 follows its 1980 sibling: distilled a year later, matured in Oloroso, bottled in 2008 at cask strength, an outturn of 736 bottles. A rare sherried old Laphroaig.

Twenty-seven years in Oloroso bring fig, raisin and a walnut dryness from the cask, undiluted at 56.6%.

The medicinal peat sits mellow under the deep sherry, smoke and dried fruit interlocked. One of a pair of rare old sherry bottlings.
