Laphroaig 27 Years Old 1980 (Oloroso)

Distilled in 1980, matured in Oloroso and bottled in 2007 at cask strength, this 27 year old is a rare sherried old Laphroaig of 972 bottles. Deep sherry meets a softening smoke.

Twenty-seven years in Oloroso load the spirit with fig and raisin from the cask's melanoidins, and at 57.4% it is undiluted.

The peat is mellow but still medicinal beneath the sherry, a yeasty depth on the close. A rare old sherried bottling.
