Description

Bessie Williamson took over Laphroaig in 1954 and became the first woman to own and run a Scotch whisky distillery; this 2019 travel retail 25 honours her. A fitting tribute in a mature, quarter-century malt.

Twenty-five years in ex-Bourbon soften the medicinal smoke, the spirit turning waxy with age.

At 43% the peat is gentle, a coal-gas edge, vanilla, citrus and a green note alongside. History in a glass.
