Description

The 2019 entry in Laphroaig's 25 Year Old Cask Strength Edition, the annual full-strength release of the distillery's oldest core age. Each year's batch differs with the casks drawn, this one matured in ex-Bourbon.

A quarter century mellows the medicinal smoke into a waxy maturity, the cask strength keeping it vivid where the standard 40% bottlings turn gentle.

At 51.4% the peat is soft but present, vanilla from the bourbon oak over a waxy base. The profile takes in fresh fruit, vanilla, citrus, honey and a malt note.
