Laphroaig 19 Years Old 1996 (SMWS 29.209)

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society grew from a 1978 cask-sharing syndicate into the club founded in 1983 at The Vaults in Leith. This 19 year old Laphroaig, from cask 29.209, came off the stills in 1996 and was bottled in 2015. in the More reviving than smelling salts range.

Nineteen years of ex-Bourbon soften its oily, tarry smoke.

At its natural 50.1%, vanilla rises from the bourbon wood. The peat is oily and phenolic, brine underneath.
