Description

No royal seal dates this 15 to before 1994, the year Laphroaig received its Royal Warrant. The absent warrant, and the old 43% strength, are what collectors look for.

Ex-Bourbon across fifteen years does the softening: guaiacol drives the smoke and the phenols the medicinal edge, the American oak lifting vanilla through the middle.

It keeps Laphroaig's coal-gas mineral streak but wraps it in chocolate and citrus, closing on a kippery, smoky note from the south Islay shore.
