Description

Chocolate, leather and a nutty richness sit where the 10's raw smoke usually is. This older 15 shows what another five years in oak does to Laphroaig: the medicinal edge stays, but softens into something rounder.

The peat is the constant, Laphroaig malting part of its barley over Islay peat near Port Ellen as it has since 1815, the spirit coming off the stills tarry and medicinal.

Fifteen years in ex-Bourbon at 40% pull vanilla up through that smoke, citrus and a faint coal-gas note alongside the chocolate and leather.
